What a New Student Should Know

WE ARE THE ROAR!

We want to make your first year at Lanham Christian School an easy transition with some things we think you would like to know about our school.

Our goal as a school is to provide high-quality education for you from a Christian worldview.

understanding of the word of God while also preparing you for college

A Day At Lanham Christian School

● Classes start every day at 8 am sharp
● Every student takes 8 classes a day
● In the morning from 8-11:18 am we have our first 4 classes
● On Wednesdays we have a chapel service, where we worship and hear the word of God instead of 4th period

● Lunch is from 11:18-11:45 am
● School ends at 3 pm
● During your first week of school you will be provided with everything that you need (usernames, passwords, ect.)

Sports (Soccer, Volleyball, Tennis, Chess, Basketball, Flag Football, and Cheer)

At Lanham Christian, students in grades 6th – 12th, who maintain an unweighted minimum GPA of 2.5, are eligible to try out and participate in sports teams. LCS currently offers four sports: Volleyball, Soccer, Cheerleading, and Basketball. Varsity Basketball (girls), Varsity Basketball (boys), Varsity Volleyball (girls), and Soccer (girls and boys).

Fun Facts About Our School

Snack Box every day there is a snack box. Everything like chips, chocolate, sodas, water, candy, and many other snacks are sold at prices ranging from 50 cents to 2 dollars.

Retreat Every year, high school students have a retreat. We all have an opportunity to grow our relationship with God, and to grow in our fellowship.

Chick-Fil-A You have a chance to order Chick-Fil-A a week before on Renweb each Thursday. You have the choice of either a sandwich with no pickles or nuggets and both with water and chips on the side.
Dress-Down Dollars: Sometimes we will receive dress-down dollars from administration or teachers as a reward or for a different reason and we can use it to dress down on any day

We are a community. We always strive to support, encourage and help one another each day, we strive to lift each other up with prayer and with the word of God.

Some Things Students Would Like You To Know:

“I think that new students should know that the staff really cares for them and they
want to see you succeed. Lanham offers AR to help you enhance your reading”
“New students should know they are welcome and that because moving to a new
school is sometimes hard, but they are loved immediately, and there are people for
them”

“Take things slow and get to know your teachers and classmates. Always remember
to be positive”

“Students should know that they have help, they have their classmates who are all
willing to help and they have teachers who will give you attention and help when
needed”

“New students should know that you have to be on top of your classwork because if
not you will be behind and will struggle”

“I think new students should know that it is important to get good grades, especially
if you are playing sports”
