Reading Buddies

The Reading Buddies program at Lanham Christian School is a great way for 6th graders to get involved in their community and give back. As part of the Next Steps class, they visited the 1&2 grades and assist them in reading. Its amazing to see the 6th graders show leadership and patience when reading to the younger students. Not only do the 6th graders get to help teach and help children improve their reading skills, but they also get to experience the joy of reading and storytelling. Reading is a great way to foster a love for literature and to inspire children to keep reading. The Reading Buddies program is a great way for 6th graders to grow in their own reading skills and to give back to the LCS community. They take time out of their day to read to a student or a small group of students, depending on the size of the class. The Reading Buddies program at Lanham Christian School is a great experience for both the 6th graders and the younger students. Its a great way to help children grow in their reading and to foster a love of reading.
