LCS Track & Field Team Starts the Season Strong
The Lanham Christian School (LCS) Track Team launched their 2025 season with an impressive showing at their first meet on March 27th. From fast finishes on the track to powerful throws in the field, our student-athletes displayed focus, teamwork, and God-given talent.

Meet Highlights from March 27th
Our Lions took to the track with energy, determination, and unity. Several of our relay teams and individual athletes placed among the top finishers in their events, setting a strong tone for the season ahead.
HS Boys Relay Teams Take 1st and 3rd in 4x100
The HS Boys Relay A-Team ran a remarkable race, placing 1st in the 4×100 meter relay with speed and precision.

Their hard work and teamwork came together beautifully on the track.
The HS Boys Relay B-Team also delivered a strong performance, placing 3rd in the 4×100 and showing great chemistry and growth.

HS Girls Relay Team Brings Home 2nd Place
The HS Girls 4×100 Relay Team captured a 2nd place finish with grace and determination. Their speed and synchronization showcased the fruit of disciplined practice and strong team spirit.

The girls’ performance was a true example of what it means to run with purpose, both on and off the track.
Dominating the Field in Shot Put
LCS athletes also shined in field events, especially in shot put, where they demonstrated both strength and precision.
🥇 HS Girls Shot Put: Fredella Sawyerr
Fredella took 1st place in the girls’ shot put with a powerful throw that placed her at the top of the competition.
🥈 HS Boys Shot Put: Michael Lebby
Michael placed 2nd in the boys’ shot put, showing skill, strength, and consistency in his performance.
Celebrating Every Athlete
While only a few placements were awarded at this meet, every member of the LCS Track Team deserves to be recognized. Each athlete who competed or supported their teammates showed commitment, courage, and Christlike character.
We’re reminded in 1 Corinthians 9:24:
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.”
It’s not always about placement—it’s about giving your best, honoring God with your gifts, and growing through the process.
