Life After LCS: Elisha plans to go to prep school then play basketball overseas.

Life After LCS: Danielle plans to become a Registered Nurse

Life After LCS: Isaiah plans to attend UMES, start a family that honorss God and open a business.

Timbite Ephrem (3rd-5th Grade, 9th-12th Grade)

College Acceptance: Prince Georges Community College; Towson University

Scholarships and Grants Awarded: Maryland Higher Education Commission Grant

Life After LCS: Tim plans to attend Towson University and become a film director and writer.

Life Verse: “You Lord, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked.” — Psalms 12:7

 

Isaiah Harper (9th-12th Grade)

Life After LCS: Isaiah plans to take a gap year and work while he decides which college will best suite him.

Life Verse: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” — John 3:16

 

Quentin Keith-Brown (7th-12th Grade)

College Acceptance: Prince George’s Community College

Scholarships & Grants Awarded: The Promise Scholarship

Life After LCS: Quentin plans to major in Information Technology while working and making music in his free time. After community college, he plans to attend GMCU to receive a bachelor’s degree.

Micah Major (10th-12th Grade)

College Acceptance: Towson University, Salisbury State University, Mount Saint Mary’s University, Morgan State University- Troy E. Quinn Award, Clara I. Adams Honors College, Bowie State University

Scholarships & Grants Awarded: $150,000

Life After LCS: Micah plans to study Environmental Science & Law

Aaron Newlon (7th- 12th Grade)

College Acceptances: Towson University, University of South Carolina

Life After LCS: Aaron plans to become a professional athlete.

Life Verse: “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” 2Chronicles 15:7

Victoria Otuonye-Otis (9th-12th Grade)

College Acceptance: Spelman College

Life After LCS: Victoria plans to attend Medical School to become a doctor.

Life Verse: “Blessed is the one perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” — James 1:12

Brittany Pender (Kindergarten-12th Grade)

College Acceptances: Clark Atlanta University, Delaware State University, Florida A&M University

Scholarships Awarded: $36,560

Life After LCS: Brittany plans to attend Medical School to become a Neurosurgeon.

Life Verses: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” — 1 Timothy 4:12

Lilyana Smith (12th Grade)

College Acceptances: Arundal Community College

Life After LCS: Lily plans to obtain an Associates of Science Degree at ACC, then transfer to a four-year college to get her BS in Nursing

Life Verse: “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” –1John 4:8

Michael Sodimu (9th-12th Grade)

College Acceptances: University of North Carolina- Greensboro, St. John’s University- Merit Scholarship Award Winner, Penn State University, University of Pittsburg

Scholarships Awarded: $50,000

Life After LCS: Michael plans to become a real estate agent and buy & flip houses to resell them.

Life Verse: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13

 

Rebekah (Paige) Tinsley (7th-12th Grade)

Life After LCS: Rebekah will take a year off, following which, she will study Business Management & Marketing, apply for Disney College Program, and eventually open a café.

Life Verse: “Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?” — Job 12:12 

The Graduating Class of 2020 is one of the highest achieving classes in LCS history!

Ruth Owusu (1st-12th Grade)

College Acceptances: Loyola University of Maryland

Scholarships Awarded: $25,000 in Presidential Scholarships

Life After LCS: Ruth plans on majoring in History with a minor in Education at Loyola; later she looks to further her career towards becoming a College Professor

Life Verse: “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” –Matthew 6:33

 

Mia Thurman (5th-12th Grade)

College Acceptances: Towson University, Delaware State University, Radford University, Virgina State University, Lincoln University, University of Maryland- Baltimore County

Scholarships Awarded: $24,000 Scholarship to Radford University, Recipient of the Alpha Pi Chi National Sorority Scholarship

Life After LCS: Mia plans on attending UMBC where she will major in Physical Therapy

Life Verse: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” –Philippians 4:6-7

 

Alexandra Boyce (1st-12th Grade)

Scholarships Awarded: $3,000 Performing Arts Scholarship to University of Valley Forge

Life After LCS: Alex plans on attending the University of Maryland- College Park to major in Music or Linguistics

Rakia Barnett (9th-12th Grade)

College Acceptances: Philander Smith College, Bowie State University, Elizabeth City State, North Carolina Central University, University of Maryland- Eastern Shore, Delaware State University, South Carolina State University

Life After LCS: Rakia plans on majoring in Criminal Justice

Life Verse: “God is within her, she will not fail; God will help her at the break of day.”– Psalm 46:5

 

Deborah Sawyerr (10th-12th Grade)

College Acceptances: Bowie State University, Coppin State University, Morgan State University

Life After LCS: Deborah plans on majoring in Nursing

Xiomara Villacorta (9th-12th Grade)

College Acceptances: Scholarships to Bowie State University, Delaware State University, and Hood College

Life After LCS: Xiomara plans on majoring in Criminal Justice at Bowie State University

Life Verse: “Be very careful, then, how you live– not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opprotunity, because the days are evil.” — Ephesians 5: 15-16

 

Jack Villacorta (9th-12th Grade)

Life After LCS: Jack plans on majoring in Business

Caleb Sallee (11th-12th Grade)

College Acceptances: Towson University, Regent University, Washington Adventist University, Morgan State University

Life After LCS: Caleb plans on majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Creative Writing at Towson University

Deven Dowdie (11th-12th Grade)

College Acceptances: Bowie State University, University of Maryland- Eastern Shore, Mount St. Mary’s, Delaware State University, and Virginia Union University

Scholarships Awarded: $80,000 Leadership Scholarship to Mount St. Mary’s

Life After LCS: Deven plans on majoring in Criminal Justice

Life Verse: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'” –Jeremiah 29:11

 

Zachary Carr (9th-12th Grade)

College Acceptances: Prince George’s Community College, Community College of Baltimore County- Catonsville

Life After LCS: Zachary plans on earning his Associates Degree in Automotive Technology through the Ford ASSET Program, and then pursue his BS in Mechanical Engineering in the near future.

Life Verse: “…for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” — Psalms 107:9

 

Joshua Green (9th -12th Grade)

College Acceptances: Prince George’s Community College

Life After LCS: Joshua plans on earning his Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, and then pursuing his BS i Software Engineering in the near future.

Nnaemeka Akwada (10th-12th Grade)

Life After LCS: Nnaemeka plans on majoring in Business Management

Scholarships Awarded: $8,000 in scholarships

Life After LCS: Tiara plans to study Pediatric Nursing as an undergrad and further her education and career with a master’s degree.

Life After LCS: Andrew plans to attend Virginia Wesleyan University and major in Physical Therapy.

Scholarships Awarded: $9,000 in scholarships and federal grants

Life After LCS: Jackelyn plans to attend Washington Adventist University and major in Nursing.

 

Nigel Xavier Slaughter (9th-12th Grade)

College Acceptances: Salisbury University and Delaware State University

Scholarships Awarded: $8,000 merit scholarship and a $2,000 grant

Life After LCS: Nigel plants to attend Salisbury University and major in Business Administration.
