Learn By Doing

We desire to facilitate the development of each student in a manner that is consistent with God’s purpose and plan. On a spiritual level, this begins with a personal relationship with Christ and continues as students learn from the Word of God and gain an understanding of the gifts, talents, and abilities that God has given to them. On a social level, this involves the practical implementation of a Christian worldview, which is gained through instruction and following the example of Godly behavior modeled by faculty and staff. On an academic level, it involves the student reaching their full educational potential through the development of the necessary academic skill set to achieve educational goals. At the heart of the Student Development Program is a focus on making disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is our desire to partner with like-minded parents/families in the development of their students.

The National Honor Society and the National Junior Honor Society are prestigious organizations that recognize well-rounded students who excel academically and display leadership, character, and a heart of service. Like NHS, NJHS is a distinctive multifaceted learning experience that provides a solid and meaningful foundation for life. Membership in the Lanham Christian chapter of the National Honor Society & National Junior Honor Society provides each individual the opportunity to grow spiritually, to take up the mantle of leadership within the LC student body, and to serve others both within and outside the LC community.

Lanham Christian School Student Government

Lanham Christian School’s Student Government is an essential part of our school community, providing students with opportunities to develop their leadership skills and make a positive impact on their school.

The Student Government is made up of elected representatives from the high school, who work together to organize school events, raise awareness about important issues, and provide a voice for their peers. They meet regularly to discuss school policies, plan events, and address student concerns.

Some of the Student Government’s main responsibilities include organizing spirit weeks, planning the annual school banquet, fundraising for various causes, and leading community service projects. They also serve as liaisons between the student body and school administration, providing valuable feedback and suggestions for improving our school.

Through their involvement in the Student Government, students learn the importance of teamwork, communication, and responsibility. They also have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and make a meaningful impact on their school community. At Lanham Christian School, we are proud of our Student Government and the positive influence they have on our school!

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Lanham Christian students, parents, and faculty have made great strides in our mission to build community!

Every year, LCS has three major Community Giving events that enables our students and families to show the love of Jesus Christ by meeting the needs of our brothers and sisters. This year, with the help of our student’s families, we were able to provide Thanksgiving baskets and turkeys for 15 families in the community; filled and shipped 50 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes for Samartian’s Purse; purchased gifts, such as dolls, toys and coats and bikes for 12 familes and their children to have an amazing Christmas; and volunteered at the Salvation Army’s Angel tree Sorting Facility. Additionally, we added more than 200 items to the Grace Church Food Pantry, and our Girls of Integrity performed at the Larkin Chase Center Retirement Home.
